Working With Emotions Through a Mono-print and Drawing Technique
This technique is similar to “Touch Drawing” in which an acrylic printing plate is inked up, paper placed on top, and then the image worked blind from the back of the paper. In this instance, I worked directly on the plate, using my gloved hands to move the ink in response to a feeling state. I then placed paper over the plate to pull a print. I repeated this several times, re-inking and working the plate each time. When the prints dried, I looked for images suggested in the random marks, then used a charcoal pencil to enhance these images.
