Process painting is a spontaneous and intuitive way of painting imagery in response to an issue or question. Typically I select a palette of 3 to 5 paint colors from a large selection of colors. I then make a selection of brushes and begin to make marks, intuitively developing imagery that appears. The piece is dated and titled. It can be further processed with “Witness Writing” which documents the experience, the process, thoughts, and feelings that arose in response. Symbols can be explored through associations and an amplification process for added insight.
